I was recently approached by a friend launching a DJ business to create both a logo and a motion graphic to display during live performances. Utilizing Adobe After Effects, Final Cut Pro, Artlist.io, and DaFont, I delivered two unique animated concepts:
The second version leans into a refined, bold style. I used vibrant typography. I animated electricity to surge directly from the text on a smooth, one-minute loop. This gave it a sharp, energetic presence that aligns with the brand’s exciting stage presence.
- Retro-Inspired Design
The first concept captures a nostalgic, video game aesthetic, featuring pixelated electric effects that pulse in and out behind the word BACKSPIN. I layered a looping visual effect between the text and the electricity to create added dimension and movement.
This project emphasized how visual theme and motion can evoke specific emotions and help target the right audience. Working with BACKSPIN has been a great creative experience.
